FAQ
What is the difference between ISO 9001:2015 and previous versions
ISO 9001:2015 adopts the High Level Structure (HLS), incorporates risk-based thinking as an explicit requirement (clause 6.1), eliminates the mandatory quality manual and management representative, and reinforces focus on organizational context and interested parties.
How long is the ISO 9001 certification cycle
The ISO 9001 certificate is valid for 3 years. During that period, annual surveillance audits are conducted (years 1 and 2) and a recertification audit at the end of the cycle. The organization must maintain the QMS continuously operational to retain certification.
Is it mandatory to document all QMS processes
ISO 9001:2015 requires specific documented information (policy, objectives, scope, nonconformity records, audit results) but allows the organization to determine what additional documentation is necessary. The documentation level depends on the organization size and complexity.
