Ethical AI impact is the assessment of moral, social and human rights consequences of developing and using AI systems.
Ethical AI impact assessment examines how an AI system affects individuals and groups in terms of fairness, privacy, autonomy, transparency and well-being. ISO 42001 requires organizations to identify and evaluate ethical impacts of their AI systems as part of risk assessment.
Risk assessment covers all risks (technical, operational, legal). Ethical impact focuses specifically on moral and social consequences.
The EU AI Act requires it for high-risk systems. ISO 42001 includes it as part of the AI risk management process.
