Budget is usually the first barrier for an SME seeking to organise its management. The second comes later: turning documents into a way of working that people can sustain.

Kit Calidad offers an opportunity to fund part of the implementation. A useful decision starts with the company's problem: quality, environmental management or occupational health and safety.

Choose the problem before the standard

The proposal must explain which processes it covers, who is involved and what evidence will remain at the end. A precise scope makes it possible to compare quotes and identify what the organisation needs.

Understand who does what

The company submits its application and selects an authorised provider. The administering authority assesses the application. The provider carries out the implementation and submits the corresponding expenditure report. Before signing, it is advisable to define responsibilities, deliverables, timelines and payment terms.

Ask for evidence that it works

A procedure has value when it guides a task. An indicator, when it helps inform a decision. When accepting the work, the company needs to understand how it uses the system, what records it produces and how it resolves deviations.

Set aside a budget for certification

The Kit and certification have separate budgets. If the organisation seeks certification, it must account for the independent audit and the associated costs. Completion of the implementation project does not guarantee a favourable certification decision.

Review before commissioning

  • Provider authorisation for CAL-01.
  • Scope and deliverables.
  • Co-funding and costs outside the programme.
  • Conditions for starting, approval and expenditure reporting.
  • Freedom to choose a certification body.
Funding helps get things started. Management's job is to ensure that the system keeps working when the project ends.
